Dr. Amy Wandel, MD

Amy Wandel, MD, is a board-certified plastic surgeon with more than 16 years of experience performing a variety of cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery procedures. Dr. Wandel is recognized internationally for her ability to deliver natural-looking, aesthetically pleasing surgical results. A retired Navy surgeon, she has helped numerous soldiers and civilians improve their appearance and self-confidence by providing them with some of the most advanced surgical treatments and personalized, compassionate care. Dr. Wandel has been featured in various California newspapers, including the San Diego Union-Tribune and North County Times, and on National Public Radio’s “Morning Edition” program.

As one of the few female plastic surgeons in the Sacramento area, Dr. Wandel provides a woman’s touch to every cosmetic procedure she performs. She also has a very successful track record improving the appearance of the body through procedures such as liposuction, tummy tuck and body contouring. For those patients who wish to rejuvenate their facial appearance, Dr. Wandel offers facelift, forehead lift, eyelid surgery and rhinoplasty (nose surgery) procedures. Amy Wandel, MD, attended the University of California at Berkeley as a Regent Scholar. After graduating at the top of her class, she was awarded a full naval scholarship for continuing studies at the Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in Chicago, where she earned a Doctor of Medicine degree. Dr. Wandel served her general surgery internship and residency at Naval Medical Center Oakland. She completed a residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery at Rhode Island Hospital. Dr. Wandel served 27 years in the military, 14 of which she spent at the Naval Medical Center San Diego – one of the busiest military hospitals in the nation. Dr. Wandel regularly donates her time for community projects such as Operation Smile, which provides free surgical services for children. She also volunteers for Interplast and Interface — two organizations providing surgical treatments for people in developing countries.
