Dan J. Hu, MD, received his Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. He earned a Doctor of Medicine degree from Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine. Dr. Hu completed his general surgery internship and ophthalmology residency at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, where he served his final year as the Chief Resident. He also received advanced fellowship training in cornea, external disease, anterior segment and refractive surgery at the New England Eye Center and Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston. Dr. Hu is a published author whose articles have appeared in several highly regarded ophthalmology journals. A coveted speaker, he also frequently lectures at national ophthalmic conferences on the subjects of refractive surgery, cataract surgery and the use of amniotic membrane in ocular surface reconstruction. Dr. Hu is a member of several prestigious professional organizations, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
