Dr. David Sachs, MD

David Sachs, MD, is an ophthalmologist specializing in suture-less cataract surgery, LASIK, cornea transplant surgery and comprehensive ophthalmology. Dr. Sachs graduated from Brown University with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology. He then received his medical degree, graduating at the top of his class from Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia. Dr. Sachs completed his transitional year at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown, Pennsylvania. He went on to complete his ophthalmology residency at Nassau University Medical Center/Stony Brook University, where he served his final year as Chief Resident. Dr. Sachs remained in Long Island for a one-year fellowship in cornea and refractive surgery. During his fellowship, Dr. Sachs specialized in cataract surgery, multi focal intraocular lenses, cornea transplants and the latest techniques in laser refractive surgery.

During his training, Dr. David Sachs was very active in ophthalmic research. His curriculum vitae includes numerous article publications and three book chapters. He has also been involved in multiple prospective and experimental research trials. Dr. Sachs is currently a volunteer at Nassau University Medical Center where he helps train ophthalmology residents. He is a member of numerous professional societies, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology.

Dr. Sachs is an associate at Ophthalmic Consultants of Long Island. This practice consists of 21 eye specialists representing each subspecialty of ophthalmology in six locations throughout Long Island — Rockville Centre, Lynbrook, Valley Stream, Stony Brook, Manhasset and East Meadow.
