Dina Giesler, DDS, attended the University of Houston for her undergraduate studies. She completed a two-year program in dental hygiene at the University of Texas Dental School’s Houston Medical Center from 1982 to 1984. Over the course of her academic career, Dr. Giesler worked as a dental assistant and hygienist in over 30 dental practices, and this is what fueled her passion and interest in cosmetic dentistry. Dr. Giesler earned her dental degree at the University of Texas School of Dentistry in 1991, where she also ran an evening oral pathology clinic and served as a student delegate to the American Dental Association. She served as class president during dental school. Dr. Giesler completed a general hospital residency internship at the University of Oklahoma Medical Center. She then served a one year commitment in the Public Health Service in Plainview, Texas. She was associated with a cosmetic practice in Houston, prior to buying her first dental practice in Texas City in 1995. She sold the practice in 1998 and moved to Atlanta, where she opened Atlanta Smiles and Wellness.

Throughout her elite career, Dr. Giesler has been awarded with numerous honors, including the America’s Top Dentist Award from the Consumers’ Research Council of America in 2003, 2004, 2010 and 2012. She is a Master Dentist of the Academy of General Dentistry, a distinction bestowed upon less than 1 percent of American dentists. Dr. Giesler has been a member of the Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry since 1995, and a member of the ADA and AGD since 1991. She has served on numerous boards in dentistry as well as philanthropic endeavors. Dr. Giesler founded the Atlanta Smiles Foundation, a foundation that provides survivors of domestic violence with dental and facial reconstruction services.
