D. Paul Buhrer, MD, earned his Bachelor of Science in biology at Tulane University in New Orleans, where he also completed his medical education and general surgery residency. He underwent a residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Texas. Dr. Buhrer also studied in Miami under the mentorship of world-renowned plastic and reconstructive surgeon Dr. Tracy M. Baker. Following comprehensive medical training, Dr. Buhrer served as Chief of Plastic Surgery at Baltimore Washington Medical Center. He is affiliated with many professional organizations, including the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the American College of Surgeons, the John Staige Davis Society of Plastic Surgeons and the Medical and Chirurgical Faculty of the State of Maryland.
