Dr. Jacqueline D. Griffiths, MD

Jacqueline D. Griffiths, MD, is a board-certified ophthalmologist (practicing in Reston, Virginia) who is well known for her expertise in Laser Vision Correction. Dr. Griffiths began performing LASIK laser eye surgery soon after it was approved by the FDA in 1996 and has since performed thousands of surgeries. Her expertise is heavily sought-after by other eye surgeons and she routinely lectures, both in the United States and abroad; most recently being invited to lecture to ophthalmologists in South Korea and China about Laser Vision Correction advancements. She stays on the cutting edge of laser eye surgery and has participated as an investigator in the CRS-USA LASIK study, which was a large-scale study of LASIK outcomes. Dr. Jacqueline Griffiths earned her undergraduate degree at Yale University and her medical degree from the University of Michigan, School of Medicine. She performed her residency in ophthalmology at the Georgetown University, Department of Ophthalmology. She has been in private practice since 1994 and founded NewView Laser Eye, Inc. in 1999. She has served as Chief of Ophthalmology for the Reston Ambulatory Surgery Center in Reston, VA as well as Loudon Hospital in Leesburg, VA. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology and a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. She is an active member in national and local ophthalmology societies, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the Washington National Eye Center.
