Mark E. Whitten, MD, is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. Having performed more than 85,000 LASIK procedures, Dr. Whitten’s skill in refractive surgery has won him the respect of his patients and colleagues. His expertise is frequently sought by fellow medical professionals for their vision correction needs and those of their families.

Dr. Whitten has practiced ophthalmology in Washington, D.C. for more than a decade. He is the past chairman of the Medical Society of D.C., former president of the Washington Ophthalmological Society and former council member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He is Senior Attending Clinical Instructor at the Washington Hospital Center, where he teaches the latest surgical techniques to ophthalmologists.
