Dr. Mary Powers, MD

Dr. Mary Powers, MD, FACS, is a board-certified female plastic surgeon. Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Powers has many years of experience providing specialized plastic and reconstructive surgery to patients throughout Los Angeles County. In addition to running her practice, Dr. Powers is the Chief of Plastic Surgery at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center, a clinical assistant professor of surgery at the University of Southern California School of Medicine and a clinical instructor of surgery at the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences.

Dr. Powers offers a variety of plastic surgery procedures, including breast augmentation, liposuction, tummy tuck, facelift and rhinoplasty. Her philosophy is “to provide the best plastic surgery and follow-up care for the patient.” To accomplish this, she starts by listening and evaluating the patient’s goals, educating the patient to ensure that his or her goals are realistic and setting up a preoperative meeting to clarify the details of the operation. The surgery is performed in state-of-the art, certified facilities in Beverly Hills, Santa Monica and Long Beach. Due to Dr. Powers’ skill, experience and patient-centered practice philosophy, her patients consistently report satisfying results.

Dr. Powers, MD, FACS, received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California, Davis, and her Doctor of Medicine degree from Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland. She completed a general surgery residency at the University of California, San Diego, followed by a plastic surgery residency at the St. Louis University Health Sciences Center. She was awarded a surgery research fellowship by Duke University Medical Center and a Boyes Hand Surgery fellowship by the University of Southern California Medical School. Dr. Powers is the author of various research publications, abstracts and presentations and belongs to numerous professional organizations, including the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Medical Association, the Association for Academic Surgery and the American Medical Women’s Association.
