Stuart Sondheimer, MD, is an experienced eye care physician with more than 12,000 refractive surgeries, 6,000 LASIK procedures and 10,000 cataract surgeries to his credit. Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, Dr. Sondheimer was one of the first surgeons in the United States to perform surgical correction for nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism.

Dr. Sondheimer is committed to excellence in vision care. He stays abreast of the latest eye care techniques, equipment and technologies by attending advanced training courses and seminars every year. As a leader in ophthalmology, he has frequently taught fellow ophthalmologists, residents and medical students about cataract surgery, refractive surgery and general ophthalmology.

Stuart Sondheimer, MD, received his bachelor’s degree from Washington University in St. Louis and earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois. He served as an intern at Evanston Hospital and completed his residency training in ophthalmology at the University of Wisconsin. He is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. Dr. Sondheimer is affiliated with numerous professional organizations, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the International Society of Refractive Surgery, the Chicago Ophthalmological Society and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. He served in the past as a member of the Board of Directors of the Arizona Medical Association.
